God’s House

Building His House
Psalms 127 A song of ascents. Of Solomon. 1 Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain. Unless the LORD watches over the city, the watchmen stand guard in vain.  2 In vain you rise early and stay up late, toiling for food to eat— for he grants sleep to those he loves.  3 Sons are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.  4 Like arrows in the hands of a warrior are sons born in one’s youth.  5 Blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be put to shame when they contend with their enemies in the gate. – (NIV)
When God builds his house, He does not build it with bricks or stones. Instead He adds sons to His family! Often in the Old Testament when there is a reference to the House of Abraham, the House of David, it does not refer to a building or buildings. Rather it is a reference to members of the family of that person.
When God says, that He builds His house, he is referring to the company of believers, to all those who have received Christ as their Lord and Saviour.
Jesus repeats the essence of the statement in Psalm 127 when He says: “I will build my Church and the powers of hell will not conquer it.” Mt 16.18 (NLT)
As GO Centre, we must understand that God is doing His supernatural work in our midst. He is adding sons to His Church. This however does not mean that we are mere spectators. We have been commissioned to work hand in hand with the owner of the Church. We must realize, that it is a great privilege to be involved in this enterprise. While all things will pass away, everything established by the Word of God will never pass away.

In the School of God
God has destined the Church to be with Him forever and ever. Therefore, there is need to have us prepared perfectly to become ready for the tasks of God that He has prepared for us in eternity to come.
When we go to school as children, we have no clue, why we have to learn all the things which come our way. Yet the years of learning are absolutely vital to prepare us for the life as adults. Year after year we go through the discipline of learning and growing, until one day, we will be able to graduate and fulfil our role in society.
What happens to us on this level in our childhood and youth is happening to us in our life as God takes us through lesson after lesson for our spiritual growth. We may often moan and complain, why we go through hardship and difficulties again, but this is the school of God, in which He prepares us for greater things to come. None of us really knows, what to expect in the hereafter. Only God knows what will be there and how best to prepare us for that life in His presence. God has been creating and building magnificent things in eternities past and we do have every reason to believe, that we will partake in His mighty works in very specific ways. That is why we go through specific preparations during our lifetime. Just as there are so many job disciplines in secular life, each discipline needs specific training and preparation. For this reason, our experiences and hardships may differ, because God has a perfect training program for all of us. Let us not forget, that all things will work out for good, for those who love the Lord.
Often we think, that God should just give us a life without problems and full of everything we want. Unfortunately, there are many popular preachers who preach sermons exactly along these lines of expectations. We all yearn for blessings and financial prosperity and that is why such people always have great following.

His Gifts in our Life
What we must realise however, is that God will give us the gifts, talents and equipment as well as the material resources which are connected with our commission and job description. God love to give much more that we can imagine. Yet His giving is always targeted to what we are called to achieve at a given time.
We must also be aware, that whatever we receive from the hands of God is not to be meant to end up in our pockets or bank accounts. He gives so that we can be a blessing to others. We are like sprinklers who have a fast inflow of water in order to distribute the same water on the dry ground around us, so that the land can become fruitful.
As His people we should thank the Lord for all that He has given us corporately and individually. He has really blessed us with much. The question is, whether we really understand those blessings and distribute them among the people who are in need.
My question to you is this: Are you just a spectator of what the Church is doing, or is there a way that you can become part of this work? Or even worse, are you one of the many selfish individuals who flood the world today claiming to be Christians only interested in “my blessing, my breakthrough, my deliverance…??

Vision instead of Competition
I believe that none of us should just be a spectator. We all have been empowered by God to be part of the solution for our world. Do not use cheap excuses to get yourself out of the responsibility God has placed on all of us. We are here to complement each other. As the Visionary and Pastor of the Church, I have done as much as I could in order to fulfill the mission of the Church. Yet we could do so much more if we would stand together and complement each other. Often it is only a small group of people who carry a very big load, when we are so many who could make the load lighter for all of us. We are not here to compete with each other in trying to show off what we can do individually. We have a mandate from heaven to be ambassadors of God here in this world. As a Church, God does not want us to compete with any other Church either, but He wants us to live according to the vision He has given to us. We are here to fulfill the mandate of God for our lives.
God wants us to bring light and live to those who are without God as well as refreshment and encouragement to those who have become tired or have backslidden over time. Our call is to help people to “RUN to WIN.”  We are here for this season, to “LEAD PEOPLE TO GOD and GOD’S PEOPLE TO MATURITY”.
Nothing less will do. How much have you contributed to see this vision fulfilled. How many resources have you made available for this mission to carried out? Remember, whatever you contribute to this “Building of God’s House” will remain eternally. Your gifts and talents, your time and your financial resources will not be wasted in the Kingdom of God.
Meditate about the words of Jesus:  Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need.- Mt. 6.33 (NLT)
I hope you have read this booklet carefully. It represents a lot of work, many hours of commitment and sacrifice. I thank God for all those who have made this work possible. I thank those who have worked and contributed to make all that has happened reality.
My question to you is this: What have you contributed to make this work flourish? Could you get involved more, or for the first time? Do not worry about the little you can do. We are not here to compete, we are here to make the work of God go forward. A little in the hands of Jesus has the potential to achieve so much. Remember the boy who agreed to let Jesus have bread and fish. In the hands of Jesus it multiplied and took care of thousands.

There must be a difference
There is so much greed in our world today. Many people believe that it does not matter how we make our money, as long as we can find a loophole somewhere, we should use it. This is the reason the world is drowning in corruption and wickedness.
It is very unfortunate, that even in the Church we feel we have every right to do whatever it takes to get the “blessings” of God. This has led Christians to hunt for blessings and try to get them in any way possible. Much of modern Christianity especially in charismatic circles is all about money and all about how to get rich. However, I believe there must be a difference between the children of the light and the children of darkness. We must lean to be content with what God entrusts into our hands. Let us not forget, that the one who is faithful with the little, will be put over much. Again let us be reminded, that the Kingdom of God must have precedence in our life, then He will take care of all our needs.
As a leader in God’s vineyard at this time, I urge you dear brothers and sisters to concern yourself with Kingdom issues. God is building His house. Are you a son God can use ready to launch into His work?
God wants us to live a holy and exemplary life so that we are truly the light of the world. Sunday for Sunday and Day for Day God is releasing His Word into our lives, so that we can be changed into the likeness of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. He is our Model, not the success gurus of this world.
It is my prayer, that we all are true sons of God, whom He can send to do any errands. If you are a parent and you have ever sent your child/children to anything, I guess you do not appreciate their refusal to get to school or work. Neither does our God!
We are here to learn and do His work and follow His commandments. He is the master builder, but we are His hands and His feet to carry out His mission.
Romans 10:15  And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”- (NLT)
People of God, I thank you on behalf of our Lord for all that you have done in the past. At the same time I urge you to double your effort to continue to build the House of the Lord under the Leadership of our Lord Jesus, the owner of the Church. He has paid for all of us with His own blood. His love is without compromise. Therefore let us love Him back and show our love by our commitment and work in the vineyard of God.
May the Lord use these words to put a new fire in your heart “….to love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and greatest commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’ Mt. 22:37-39 (NIV)
The Lord bless you as you seek to cooperate with Jesus to build the house of God.
